DEATH AND LIFE - N.Smart

In the depths of my despair death came to me and said, 
Look not upon our meeting as the ending of your days as I have come to tell you to embrace your life, for it is in living your life to the fullest that you make our final meeting more glorious. Live not in the darkness of misery nor be drowned by the tears of your sorrow but use

these moments to lift yourself to greater heights, for it is in the depths of the valleys that we truly appreciate the glory of the mountain’

‘When will our final meeting be’ I asked, and death replied,

‘Nothing is pre-destined, it is within your power to create the life that you desire, you can be and do that which you now feel lives only in the realms of your imagination, reach for your desires as though your arms have no limits, have faith and you will fulfill your purpose in this physical plane’

‘and if I reach the top of the mountain, will I not have further to fall and more to lose when next you visit?’ I asked

‘Fear not our next meeting’ death replied ‘for I am not the lord of darkness but an angel of light sent forth to guide you home to the source of your souls birth, live your life as though tomorrow will never come and when next we meet you will have no regrets of that which you have not achieved’

Then death left me, and with his parting the clouds of despair lifted and I no longer looked upon him with fear.
